Obituary of James Arthur Mugridge

MUGRIDGE, James Arthur It is with regret that we announce the death of James Arthur Mugridge of Saint John, husband of the late Georgie (Carr) Mugridge, which occurred peacefully at home on June 21, 2011. Born in Saint John on August 8, 1935, he was a son of the late James and Bernadine (Lutz) Mugridge. Jim had great love and involvement with his grandchildren, always present and participating at their activities and sporting events. Jim began his working career as an electrician, then changed careers to be come a teacher; he taught shop at Simonds High School until his retirement in 1995. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and hiking. He is survived by his son Scott (Kim) of Quispamsis, daughter Sharyl "Shari" (Rick) Williston of Quispamsis, and four grandchildren; Ryan and Matthew Williston, and Kaitlyn and Jenna Mugridge. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting Friday from 1:00-2:00pm, at Jim’s request. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel following the visitation, at 2:00pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
