Obituary of Harold Vincent McCarty

The unexpected death of Harold McCarty, husband of the late Sandra (Graves) McCarty occurred at his residence on Saturday, January 21, 2012. He was born on September 28, 1940, at Saint John to the late Harold and Katherine (Peters) McCarty. Harold was a Welder by trade and was retired from the Saint John Iron Works. Harold is survived by his children: Deborah McCarty, Harold Jr., Sharon LeBlanc (Michael), Norman, James (Angela) and Tammy McCarty; their mother, Theresa Roy; step-son, Robert Buckley (Debra); step-daughter, Vicky Buckley (Lorne); brothers: Clarence, Eddie and Vernon; sisters: Louise Parker, Elaine Koivisto, Katherine McCarty "Rosebud" and MaryEaster Kennedy; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents and brothers: Johnny, Victor and Mac. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Wednesday for 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
