Obituary of Yvonne Mary Foley

FOLEY, Yvonne Mary Yvonne Foley of Saint John, wife of the late Lambert H. Foley, passed away at Bobby’s Hospice on January 12, 2012. Born in Saint John on June 21, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Justine (Cyr) Bastarache. A devoted churchgoer at St. Ann’s Parish, Yvonne was also a member of the St. John the Baptist CWL, loved cooking for her family, and was a very loving grandmother. She also loved to dance, swim, travel, Friday shopping with her best friend Pierrette Ross, trips to Boston with her beloved sister-in-law Gloria Foley, and loved her seafood platters. She was well known for her Christmas meat pies and molasses cookies. Yvonne is survived by her children Osmond (Connie) of Browns Flat, Gerard (Mary), Lawrence, Gary, Patricia (Tom), all of Saint John, and Marc (Tricia) of Quispamsis, nineteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Yvonne was pre-deceased by sons Paul and David, grandson Kevin Foley, granddaughter Maureen Foley, and a sister, Irene Cormier. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Monday at 12:05pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
