Obituary of William H. O'Blenis

Surrounded by his family, the death of Billy O’Blenis, life partner of Susan Jewell occurred at Bobby’s Hope House on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. He was born on February 15, 1942 in Saint John to the late Harley and Jean O’Blenis. Billy worked a taxi driver for Vet’s and Diamond many years. His family was his life; he was devoted to them in every way. Billy was truly a generous, honest and kind man and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his life partner of 40 years, Susan; daughters: Crystal and Shonna Jewell both of Saint John; son, Brian O’Blenis of Saint John, brother, Wesley O’Blenis; sister, Marlene Cane; four grandchildren: Brody, MacKenzie, Ashlie and Hallie; great granddaughter, Emma and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Beverley Lindsay. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hope House (Hospice) would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the Staff of the Extra-Mural Hospital, as well as the Doctors and Staff at Bobby’s Hope House for their kindness and care during this difficult time.
