Obituary of Jeanette Walton

Surrounded by her family, the death of Jeanette Walton, wife of the late George Walton occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She was born on November 20, 1928 at Saint John to the late Leonard and Bridget (Watson) Doucette. Jeanette was a dedicated wife and mother; she devoted her life to her family. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Milford Merry Makers Seniors. She was an avid dart player and organist; she loved music. She is survived by her son, Gerald Walton (Christine) of Sussex; daughters: Lorraine Taylor and Marsha Saltzman (Edward) both of Saint John and Mary Jeanette Walton of Halifax, NS; sisters: Margaret Comeau and Gertrude Nightengale; sister-in-law, Glenna Doucette; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; son, George; sister, Carm Williams; brothers: Irving, Leonard "Chum", Clifford and John; infant son in 1948 and infant twins in 1952. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary Tribute Service will be held during visiting Thursday at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
