Obituary of Michael Ronald Friars

Surrounded by his family, the death of Mike Friars, life partner of Audrey Dunphy occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. He was born on February 4, 1944 at Saint John to the late Manford and Mary (Tucker) Friars. Mike had his own business of servicing vending machines and VLTs. In his spare time, Mike loved to play poker. Besides his devoted life partner, Audrey; Mike is survived by three children: Wilfred (Amanda) Dunphy, Christie Dunphy and Anita Dunphy (Skip); three grandchildren: Douglas, Ashlee and Merrisa. He was predeceased by his parents and good friend, Melvin Marshall. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. There will be no formal funeral service. Private family interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
