Obituary of Agnes McColl Diggle

The death of Nessie Diggle, occurred at Shannex Nursing Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. She was born on December 8, 1914 at Saint John to the late Norman and Margaret (McDall) Diggle. Nessie was a resident of the Rothesay Area for most of her life. She started work at NBTel in Rothesay but decided to work in her father’s grocery store, Diggle’s Grocery at Rothesay Corner for many years. Later in life, Nessie worked for the Canadian Bible Society on Germain Street. She was a life member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Rothesay. Nessie is survived by sister-in-law: Marjorie Diggle of Rothesay; two nephews: David Diggle (Deborah) of Montreal, QC and Philip Diggle (Nina) of Clifton Royal and several grand nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nessie was predeceased by two brothers: Arthur and William; sister, Constance Diggle and nephew, Ian Diggle. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Gondola Point.
