Obituary of Catherine Valborg Ward

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Catherine "Val" Ward, wife of the late B. James Ward, which occurred on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 20, 1925 in Denmark, she was a daughter of the late Terkild and Hertha (Berteit) Brodersen. Val retired after working for the Bank of Nova Scotia for many years. She is survived by her children, Peter (Delane) Ward of Saint John and Anne (Steve) White of Moncton, NB; five grandchildren, Christie (Brian) MacArthur, Kyle Ward, Catherine Ward (Tyler Grant), Stephanie White and Victoria White; six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Thor (Willena) and Kenneth (Elizabeth) Brodersen; one sister, Edith McQuay; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
