Obituary of Jean Bryden Goodman

Jean Bryden Goodman of Saint John, wife of the late N. Emerson G. Goodman, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at West Cottage, Hunterson West, Killbride, County of Ayr, Scotland, on August 17, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James and Jane (Templeton) Robertson. Jean was formerly employed at both the Saint John General and Saint John Regional Hospitals, and was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, and Sapphire Rebekah Lodge No. 37. Jean is survived by a son, Emerson (Sonny) J. Goodman (Sharon) of Darlings Island; a brother, John Robertson (Dolores) of Saint John; a sister, Helen Bannister of Saint John; a sister-in-law, Sadie Robertson of Saint John; five grandchildren Tammy Lee, Shelley Ann, Christopher Emerson, Lori Ann, and Lisa Mary Jane; ten great grandchildren, Tara, Josh, Jared, Dylan, Brayden, Madison, Marisa, Mathieu, Vanessa, and Kaleb; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Jean was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Ann Gilbert; and by brothers Richard and James Robertson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Hampton, at a later date.
