Obituary of John Edward Lang

After a courageous battle with cancer, the passing of John Lang occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was born on September 25, 1929 in Saint John, NB to the late Jack and Annie (Christiansen) Lang. John worked with Saint John Shipbuilding and than with the Longshoremen until his retirement. He loved to play cards, especially Cribbage. He is survived by one daughter, Glenda Cummings (Walter) of Quispamsis, NB; three sons: Peter (Marie Royle), Michael, and Christopher all of Saint John, NB; very special friend and partner, Barbara Bown of Saint John, NB; one brother, Robert Lang (Pat) of Thunder Bay, ON; four grandchildren: Krista Lang (Matt Tibbitts), Jennifer Cummings, Matthew Cummings and Michelle Lang; one great granddaughter, Katelyn Tibbitts; a nephew and several cousins and nieces. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Mae (Goguen) Lang and brother Carl Lang. A private family memorial service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
