Obituary of Helen Gertrude Beaton

The death of Helen Gertrude Beaton, formerly of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Clifford Beaton, occurred on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born in Saint John on March 27, 1911, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Gertrude Edith (Collins) Priddle. Helen was a member of Portland United Church and had been employed at P.P. Garrett in Saint John until her retirement. She resided in Saint John for most of her life. Besides her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her five brothers and four sisters. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving Helen are nieces: Helen O’Neill (late Jack O’Neill) and Peggy Stevenson (John) and several other nieces and nephews: Cathy and Mike Mockler, Susan and Ronnie Price, Nicholas, Trevor, Melissa (Dan) Dacosta and J.T. Stevenson. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 1 pm until service time at 2:30 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice.
