Obituary of Geraldine M. Hogan

The death of Geraldine Marie (Maillet) Hogan of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Albert Hogan, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Ann de Kent, Kent County, NB, she was a daughter of the late Alderic (Boyd) and Margaret (Babineau) Maillet. Geraldine attended elementary school in Richibucto Village and Buctouche High School. Later she moved to Toronto and worked in a factory for two years before moving to Saint John at the age of 20, where she met Albert Hogan and was married for 50 years. In her early years she was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed skating and loved her flower gardens. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survived by her daughter, Jackie Kelson (Paul) of Pocologan, NB; her sons, Albert W. Hogan Jr of Sussex, NB and Tony Hogan (Rhonda Dorie) of Saint John; her brother, Leo Maillet (Frenand) of Saint John; her sisters, Doris Leblanc and Marie Dow (Allan), both of Rothesay, NB, Jeannette Hall of Saint John and Pauline Leblanc (Ivan) of Ayre, MA; her grandchildren , Jason and Ryan Kelson, Joel and Kilea Seale, Tricia Davis and Anthony Hogan, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Geraldine was predeceased by her sister, Noella Cook. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celbrated from St. Puis X Church on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
