Obituary of Eleanor Louise Clark

The death of Eleanor Louise Clark, wife of the late George W. T. Clark, occurred on September 12, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Mrs. Clark, the daughter of the late Frank Herbert Howland and Mary Beatrice (Sansom) Howland, was born and lived all her life in Saint John. Mrs. Clark was a graduate of Saint John High School. She studied nursing at the Saint John General Hospital, later graduated as a secretary from Modern Business College. She worked as a secretary for Canada Packers Shur-Gain Divn. Brockville Chemical Industries and retired from the Canadian Cancer Society in 1988. She leaves to mourn her sister Ruth Peters of St. Margaret’s Bay, NS, and brother-in-law Arthur Clark of Saint John, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her brothers Donald Wilfred Burns Howland and Robert Evan Sansom Howland and her sister Margaret Roach also predeceased her. She was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church serving on several Boards of the Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was Past President and a Dominion Life member of the Harambee Missionary Society of that church. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, at 1:00 pm, from Brenans Chapel. Following cremation interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. At Mrs. Clark’s request, in lieu of flowers, remembrances made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
