Obituary of Alexander MacEachen

MacEachen, Alexander – Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 8, 2008. He was the husband of the late Henrietta (Fisher) MacEachen. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on July 17, 1917, he was a son of the late, Alexander and Jessie (Marshall) MacEachen. He worked at Imperial Tobacco until his retirement in 1981. Survived by his daughters; Joyce MacDonald of Saint John, Betty Geldart of Salisbury, NB, Jean Berry (Ken) of Moncton, NB, Mary Agnew (Phil) of Oakville, ON, Doreen Van Dirstein (Dave) of Leslieville, AB and Frances Wilson (Terry) of Moncton, his sons; Malcolm (Lorna) of Brockville, ON, Thomas (Barb) of Scarborough, ON, and Wayne (Lynn) of Winnipeg, MB, his daughter-in-law, Jeannine McEachern of Vernon, BC, his devoted sister, Theresa Eldridge of Saint John and his faithful companion for many years, Dot McNally. Alexander is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son, Kenneth, his sisters; Doreen Bastrache and Margaret Day, his brother, Donald, and sons-in-law, Chester MacDonald and Frank Geldart. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11 and 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
