Obituary of John MacKenzie Short

The death of John MacKenzie Short, husband of Marjorie Donna (MacKenzie) Short of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, December 31, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, son of the late John MacKenzie and Jane (Stoyle) Short. John had been employed for over 39 years as Mechanical Superintendent with Atlantic Sugar. Survived by his wife; three daughters, Marjorie (Talmadge) Fenwick of Rothesay, NB, Linda (David) Nixon of Calgary, AB and Jane (Scott) Giggey of Saint John, NB; seven grandchildren, Kenneth, David and Matthew Fenwick, Michael and MacKenzie Nixon and Emma and Matilda Giggey; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John will be missed by his “Dairy Queen Buddies”. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Iris Wills and half-brother and half-sister, Bernard and Doreen. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, January 3, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
