Obituary of Richard J.M. Hughes

Unexpectedly, the death of Richard James Matthew Hughes, age 20, formerly of Saint John, occurred on October 20, 2004 in Ontario. Born in Saint John he was the son of Stephen and Lynda (Jones) Hughes. Richard attended St. John the Baptist/King Edward Schools and Simonds High School in Saint John. He was an avid baseball player; the little league team he played on won the City and District Championship in 1996. He also enjoyed ball hockey and soccer. Besides his parents Richard is survived by one brother Mark Hughes of Saint John; one sister Carrie Lynn Jones of Saint John West; grandparents Reginald and Carol (Lewis) of Saint John; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Alan and Pat Jones. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday, October 25, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am. Following cremation interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Romero House Soup Kitchen.
