Obituary of Dorothy M. Silliphant

The death of Dorothy “Dot” M. Silliphant formerly of Millidge Avenue, Saint John, wife of the late Donald Wesley Silliphant, occurred on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John, she was the only daughter of the late Ernest Hamilton and Mabel Winnifred (Jenkins) Haslett. She is survived by her three girls, Deborah McEachern (Joe), Denise Coughlan (Donald) and Elsa Russell (Patrick), all of Saint John, three brothers, Ernest Haslett, Kenneth Haslett (Trudy) and Carl Haslett (Lorraine), all of Saint John, sister-in-law, Doreen Parker of Saint John, seven grandchildren, Jana, Brock and Achsah McEachern, Jay and Trevor Coughlan and Rebecca and Brent Russell, one great granddaughter, Ilonka McEachern, special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Haslett. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Dorothy will then be taken to rest at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Main Street, Saint John on Monday, March 7, 2005 from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM. A private family interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Cystic Fibrosis, St. Luke's Anglican Church Building Fund or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
