Obituary of Lily E. Long

The death of Miss Lily E. Long formerly of the Admiral Beatty Complex, Saint John, occurred on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Edwin W. and Elsie M. (Meadus) Long. Miss Long was the Provincial Secretary for the Girl Guides of Canada, New Brunswick Council, for many years before her retirement. She was very active in the Girl Guide movement and was a former member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. She is survived by three sisters, Marjorie E. Long of Saint John, Jean I. Krans of Amelia Island, Florida, USA and Nancy Pilcher (Norman) of Mississauga, ON, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John (Jack) and Fred Long. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, January 3, 2003, at 2:00 PM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
