Obituary of Marjorie Kathleen Horgan

Marjorie Kathleen (Murphy) Horgan the wife of the late James Horgan passed away on July 19, 2015 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 17, 1921 she was a daughter of the late F. Gregory and Florence (Furness) Murphy. Marjorie started her early education at St. Rose School and graduated from St. Vincent’s High School. She worked for Sears for over 20 years and was a long time member of the Fundy Ladies Bowling League and the Ding-A-Lings Bowling League. Marjorie was a life time member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the C.W.L. Surviving are her children Gregory (Sharon) Horgan, Saint John; Cathy Horgan, Saint John; grandsons, James Horgan, Saint John; Bradley Belyea, Alberta; sister Mary Burns, Saint John; brother-in-law, Ronald Horgan; sister-in-law, Eleanor Horgan. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her son, Robert; grandson, Matthew; brothers Joe Murphy, Louis Murphy and Urban Murphy; sister Doreen Ingoldsby. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, (634-7425) with visitation held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 3-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 12 pm from St. Rose Lima Church, 541 Milford Road, with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, following the service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy, Fundy Chapter or a charity of one’s choice.
