Obituary of Michelle Leigh James

It is with deep sadness that the family of Michelle L. James, wife of Jeff James of Saint John, announce her passing at Bobby’s Hospice on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Michelle was born in Saint John on November 22, 1968, the daughter of David and Sheila (Plumley) Patterson. She graduated from St. Vincent’s High School, attended Eastern College, and recently worked for the Government of Canada. Michelle loved softball and for five years managed the Fundy Jaguars and Fundy Vipers female softball teams, and received the Charlie O’Brien award for sportsmanship. She was a loving wife to Jeff and a wonderful mother to her daughters Taylor and Shannon, and younger sister to Paul (Lori) and David (Tasha Skinner) Patterson, was a great friend to many and was close to her in-law family. Despite her long battle with breast cancer, Michelle and Jeff travelled every year to see a Boston Red Sox game and to Loudon, NH for NASCAR. Besides her parents David and Sheila, and her husband, Jeff, daughters Taylor and Shannon, and her brothers, she is survived by her mother and father in-law, George and Irene James and brothers- and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 2 to 9 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
