Obituary of Brian Fraser Hurley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Hurley, husband of Katherine "Kay" (Dunham) on Thursday, October 30, 2014, surrounded by family at Bobby’s Hospice. Born October 27, 1936 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Frederick and Isabel (Grant) Hurley. Brian had a long career in the life insurance business in the greater Saint John area where he was well-respected by both his colleagues and his clients. He contributed efforts toward both minor hockey and speed skating, and he thoroughly enjoyed his summers with friends and family in Cambridge-Narrows. In addition to his loving wife Kay, Brian is survived by four sons: Dan (Kathi), Paul (Kelly), Stephen (Tammy Corbett), and Brian (Kelly); daughter-in-law, Donna Dyker (Tim); brothers: Wayne (Mary) and Gerard (Dawn); sister-in-law, Stella; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Thomas; and brother-in-law, Ron Dunham. The family would like to pay tribute to all of the staff at Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care during his stay, and for the way they made everything "Just Beautiful". Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, 2014 from St. Rose of Lima Church, at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances may be made at www.brenansfh.com.
