Surrounded by his loving family, the death of Roger R. Theriault, husband of Jean (Coy) Theriault of Grand Bay-Westfield, occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday, September 26, 2014.
Roger was born in Saint John on January 11, 1946, a son of the late Paul and Jean (Badeau) Theriault.
He resided in Grand Bay-Westfield for the past forty-four years and had been employed for many years with Irving Pulp and Paper. Roger was an avid sports fan and was involved with the Grand Bay Oldtimer’s Softball League for thirty-seven years. He also coached the Grand Bay Merchants ball team. Roger loved to bowl with his Wednesday afternoon bowling club.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Roger is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, his son Greg (Spidey) (Jen), his daughter Tracy (Troy) Daley, his brother Norman (Kathy), two sisters Jackie (Melvin) Basque and Rita (David) Ruddock and five grandchildren: Avalon, Hayden, Thatcher, Taylor and Morgan. Roger is also survived by his extended family: Marie Swan, Marilyn (Allan) Calder, Sonny (Myrna) Coy, Marion (Donnie) Robertson, Rob (Pam) Hoben and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425).
