Obituary of Ethnee Elizabeth Booker

It is with great sadness that the family of Ethnee Booker, beloved wife of the late Charles N. Booker announces her passing, which occurred peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Belfast, Ireland on October 12, 1918, she was the last surviving child of the late Byron and Bessie (Buchanan) Greer. Ethnee is survived by her children, Donna Lee Bury (Bill) of Woodmans Point, Paul P. Booker (Doreen) of Lakewood, Sharon Ross of Stratford, PEI, Faye Tokach of Westfield and Katharine J. Parker (Jim) of Newmarket, ON; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; half brothers, Robert Greer (Donna) and Wayne Greer (Sheila); as well as several nieces and nephews. Ethnee is also survived by Lorraine Michaelson and Murray Gault. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son, C. Allan Booker; sons-in-law, Michael Tokach and Ernie Michaelson; as well as siblings, Bessie, Jane, Prudence, Hilda and John. Ethnee’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Assisted Living Unit at the Loch Lomond Village for the wonderful care that was given to her. To the staff of 5CS at the SJRH and to Dr. Webb and Dr. Keripe, a heartfelt thank you for the professional and compassionate support and care shown towards Ethnee and our family. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Friday, September 12 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 3:00 PM. The family requests that bright colours be worn during both visitation and funeral. Interment will take place in Woodmans Point Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association, Arthritis Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
