The death of Doreen McIntosh, wife of the late Ernest McIntosh, formally of Saint John, NB occurred on August 31, 2014 at Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, NB on November 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frederic and Eva (Frodsham) Potter. Doreen resided her entire adult life in Acamac where she raised her children and enjoyed her wonderful neighbours often remarking on how lucky she was to have such great neighbours. She had a special group of girls she played cards with known as "The Rummoli Girls" and also her "Bridge Group". During the summer months you would find Doreen at her cherished Summer Home at Carter’s Point, spending all bat a few of the summers of her entire life there, gardening and spending time at the beach with her children when they were young. In her later years she loved to feed and watch the birds that visited her feeders. Mom loved animals and it was obvious by the numerous pets her children acquired throughout the years. She truly was a loving mother and grandmother. Besides her parents and husband, Doreen was predeceased by her son, Scott. She is survived by her sons, Bruce McIntosh, Morinville, Alberta; Greg McIntosh (Monique), Saint John and daughter, Sheilah Bacon (Murray), Grand Bay – Westfield; seven grandchildren; Ryan, Matthew, Erin, Samantha, Christian, Hailey and Kyle; seven great grandchildren, Kasey, Dexter, Harlan, Grady, Keenan, Reese and Molly. Doreen was a long time member of the Church of the Resurrection. The family would like to thank the staff of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home for their exceptional care. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawogonish Road, Saint John, (634-7425).
