Obituary of Ernie F. Michaelson

The death of Ernie F. Michaelson of Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of Lorraine (Collings) (Booker) Michaelson, occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, July 7, 2014. Ernie was born in Saint John, a son of the late Anders and Mabel (Elder) Michaelson. He spent all his life in the Saint John area and was employed for many years at Irving Tissue Mill. Ernie was a member of the New Brunswick Antique Car Club and enjoyed many hours of fiddling at local jams and with the Down East Fiddle Group. Besides his wife, Ernie is survived by his children James (Pat), Jeff (Rosa) and Janice and their mother Helen, two brothers, Norman (Donna), Donald (Irene), one sister, Marjorie Walker, three step-children, Kevin, Julie and Jennifer, three grandchildren Kevin, Mandy and Alyssa and six step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Freddy and a sister, Peggy. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Westfield United Church. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Woodman’s Point. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the S.P.C.A. or charity of the donor’s choice.
