Obituary of Arthur D. Bogle

The death of Arthur D. Bogle of Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing and formerly of Lower Greenwich, husband of the late Doreen (Galbraith) Bogle, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Born in New Jerusalem on February 27, 1925, he was a son of the late Maurice and Phebe (Vallis) Bogle. He was employed with the Department of National Defence for many years and was a veteran of World War II serving with the RCAR at the rank of leading aircrafts man. Art was a part of Scouts Canada for thirty five years, eighteen of those years as a cub leader. He was a life member and past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #87 and a member of the Greenwich Gems Seniors and of Base Gagetown Historical Society. Survived by three sons Harvey (Joan), Norman and Wayne, four daughters Carolyn (Ronnie) Morgan, Linda (Keith) Ryan, JoAnne (Lloyd) Downton and Jean (Mike) Cave. Twelve grandchildren Sherri (Ernie) Campbell, Shawnda (Gerry) MacSwain, Wendi (Troy) MacVicar, Jeff (Melissa) Morgan, Kevin (Melissa) Ryan, Tracy Bogle, Brent Bogle, David (Jocelyn) Cave, Tara (Jesse) McNally, Anthony (Sara) Cave, Matthew Downton and Shelby Cave. Thirteen great grandchildren Ethan and Molly MacVicar, William and Simon Morgan, Sally, Madalyn and Turner Ryan, Abigail and Zoey Cave, Madison Downton, David, Charlie and William McNally. Two sisters Josephine Downs and Marion Christie. Predeceased by four brothers George, Lawrence, Vernon and Basil and four sisters Ina, Hazel, Phebe and Emily Wilson. Resting at Brenans Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB. (634-7425) with visiting hours Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bay View Chapel. Interment in United Church Cemetery, Browns Flat. Tribute to a Veteran’s Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. For those that wish donations to Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing or Wesley United Church would be appreciated by the family.
