Obituary of Sara Jo-Anne Ward

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sara Ward of Queenstown announces her death, which occurred on Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton. Born in Fredericton on June 10, 1997, she was the cherished daughter of Kathy Ward (Karl Piper) of Queenstown and Brent Ward (Lisa Flemming) of Rusagonis. Sara was a grade 10 student at Oromocto High School. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed duck hunting. Sara was active in 4-H and had many fond memories of her time spent participating in the Queens County Fair. Sara also had a love for animals and enjoyed travelling. In addition to her parents, Sara is also survived by her sister, Melissa (Mitch Player); step-brother, Ricky; grandparents, Elmer and Edna Johnson and Verna Grant; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Eldon and Elsie Johnson and grandfather, Angus Grant. Sara’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the doctors and staff of the IWK (6th floor) and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for the excellent care that was always provided to her. The support and concern shown towards her and our family will never be forgotten. Although the visitation and funeral service will be held privately, relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life, which will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 2:30 PM from the Queenstown Orange Hall. For those who wish, remembrances to the Wesley United Church, Browns Flat, Children’s Wish Foundation, Queenstown Orange Hall or to Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425).
