Obituary of Bertha Lillian Melvin

The passing of Bertha Melvin, wife of the late Vincent Melvin Sr. occurred at Kennebec Manor on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was born on February 13, 1920 in Annapolis, NS to the late Thomas and Rachel (Craig) Russell. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; devoting her life to her family. Bertha lived in Saint John from 1945 – 2013. Bertha is survived by her daughter: Rae Melvin of Saint John; sons: Vincent Melvin Jr. (Wendy Spencer) of Martinon and Craig Melvin (Crystal) of Sussex; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband, Vincent and her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Theodore "Ted" Russell. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
