Obituary of Richard Frederick Davey

It is with great sadness the family of the late Rick Davey, loving husband of E. Elaine (Shanks) Davey, announce his passing on September 11, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Charlottetown, PE, on June 18, 1949 he was a son of the late James and Annabelle (Doiron) Davey. Rick was a devoted bus driver for Saint John Transit for 35 years until August 2012, when his illness prevented him from working. In addition to his wife, Elaine, Rick is survived by his son Scott Davey and his children, Jenah, Hailey, Jessie and Keegan; sisters, Marguerite Marshall (the late Ken) and Agnes McGreggor (the late Roland); brothers, Ernie Davey (Theresa) and Bobby Davey (Doris); father-in-law, Stewart Harold Shanks; and several nieces and nephews. Rick was predeceased by his parents; a sister Marie Fobert and her husband Dilbert; and his mother-in-law, Norma M. Shanks. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 14 at 10 am.. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
