Obituary of Gordon Ewart
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gordon Ewart, of Saint John, NB, last surviving member of his immediate family, husband of Willa (Ferguson) Ewart of 57 years, which occurred on March 8, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 17, 1928 in Saint John he was a son of the late Samuel Lewis and Ada (Campbell) Ewart. Gordon was employed with Irving Pulp and Paper as a pipefitter until his retirement. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Robert Ewart and one daughter, Glenna Brittain both of Saint John; one granddaughter, Kimberly; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by six brothers, Lewis, William, Robert, John, Harry, and George; three sisters, Belle Kasse, Florie Masters and Lalia Wade; one son-in-law, Bruce Brittain.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (634-7425) with visiting on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment in Lorneville Sea View Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society, Lorneville Sea View Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
