Obituary of William Robert Burrows

The unexpected but peaceful death of William Burrows, husband of Laura (Gallant) Burrows occurred on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Grand Bay-Westfield. He was born on December 10, 1926 in Aurora, ON to the late Earl and Enid Burrows. He is predeceased by his brother, Eugene. Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Laura; William is survived by his daughter, Debbie Montgomery (Michael); son, Earle (Gina); grandchildren: Harrison and Reid; sister-in-law, Jeannine McDonald and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Bills working career started as a Merchant Marine at the age of 16 as a cook. From there he opened restaurants, built restaurants and owned a restaurant. Cooking and baking was a common theme of his life starting with daily bread making with his grandmother and finishing with prepping dough for his famous buns on the day he died. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). Although there is no visitation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine’s Church, 279 Nerepis Road on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 12:10 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to the St. Augustine’s building fund or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
