Obituary of A. Florence Bell

A. Florence Bell of Saint John, wife of the late Robert M. (Bob) Bell, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at St. Stephen, she was a daughter of the late George and Candace (Bulloch) MacLaren. Florence was a graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1948, and practiced as a Registered Nurse for many years at the Saint John General Hospital. Florence was an active volunteer in the community with Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Board of the West Saint John Community Hospital, and the Saint John Regional Hospital. Florence is survived by her daughter, Jane Bell of Saint John; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Robinson, and a brother, Edward MacLaren. In keeping with Florence’s wishes, a private family service will be held in St. Andrew’s, New Brunswick, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital or the Greenock Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews, would be appreciated by the family.
