Born on May 25, 1958 at Saint John, he was the son of Mary (Downing) Graham and the late Walter Graham. Before joining the Saint John Fire Department, Terry worked as a bartender with the Fairvale Tavern in Saint John and the Hilltop Pub in Fredericton while attending St. Thomas University.
