Obituary of Oliva Joeseph Cassie
The death of Mr. Ovila Joseph Caissie of Wellesley Ave, husband of Clairilda (Rousselle) Caissie for 56 years, occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fair Isle, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Rousselle) Caissie. Ovila had served in WWII, and was employed with Savoie Transport as a tractor trailer driver, a checker at the Winter Port and J.D.I. Ltd until his retirement. He enjoyed wrestling, hockey and his Tuesday night card games at the Denis Morris Memorial Centre. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons Donald (Debbie) Caissie of Saint John, Edgar (Noriko) Caissie of Toronto, five daughters Andrea (Bill) DeBow, Norma Drew, Aurella Caissie all of Saint John, Melinda (Larry) Cook of Quispamsis and Brenda (Kevin Langlais) Caissie of Moncton, one brother Edgar (Aline) Caissie of Fair Isle, NB, one sister Josephine (Rufin) Gionet of Lower Caraquet, nine grandchildren, five great - grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by four brothers Rheal, Alphee, Andrea and Saturnin, two sisters Irene Savoie and Evelyne Richard, one son-in-law Lenny Drew. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday, April 14, 2003 from 7-9 PM and Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 11:00 AM from St. Pius X Church. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Pius X Building Fund, or the charity of the donor's choice. “See ya in the funnies.”
