Obituary of P. Geneva Teehan

TEEHAN-the death of P. Geneva Teehan, formerly of 319 Millidge Ave., widow of Walter J. Teehan, occurred at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis, on Sunday, January 4, 2009, surrounded by her family. Geneva was born in Ward's Creek, a daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Gray) Kierstead. She had been employed at Marcus Furniture until beginning to raise her family. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Hilson Kierstead. She was a member of St. Peter's Bowling League for many years and enjoyed skating at the Saint John Forum. She is survived by three sons, Walter (Laurel) of Sussex, Michael(Sandra) of Quispamsis, and Eric (Marilyn) of China; two daughters, Julie McGrath (Cecil), and Sheri Green (Mark), both of Saint John; one sister, Ruby Bison of Saint John; 16 grandchildren, Kelly, Jody, Michelle, Meredith, Matthew, Kristian, Shay, Tamara, MacKenzie, Amber, Aaron, David, Ben, Jenna, Zachary, and John-Eric; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at St. Pius X Church on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Retts Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
