Obituary of Lionel J. W. Legere

the death of Lionel J. W. Legere of 630 Millidge Ave., husband of Joan M. (Anderson) Legere, occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, June 9, 2008. Lionel was born in Rogersville, a son of the late Fred and Flavie (Guimond) Legere.He had served as a naval torpedo man on the Ribbel during the Second World War and later served during the Korean War. He had been employed with Commercial Equipment until his retirement in 1991. He was predeceased by a son, Barry L. Legere in 1978; as well as several brothers and sisters. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, David (Jacquelyn) Legere of Quispamsis; three daughters, Deborah Bourque of Ottawa, Gail (G. Anthony) Correia of Saint John, and Monique Legere (Steve Chenier) of Moncton; one brother Gerald Legere of Rogersville; one sister, Freda (Oville) Leger of Rogersville; three grandchildren, Amanda, Lauren, and Emily; to great-grandchildren, Aydan and Ava; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9. Service will be held in Fitzpatrick's Chapel on Thursday morning at eleven o'clock. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada; the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation; or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
