Obituary of Beatrice C. McDonald

The death of Beatrice C. McDonald, widow of Dr. W. O. McDonald, occurred peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Mrs. McDonald was born in Saint John on December 24, 1903, a daughter of the late James E. and Margaret (McCarthy) O'Brien, a was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a faithful member of the Cathedral Parish for many years and was a Life Member of the Catholic Women's League. She is survived by one daughter, M. Patricia "Paddy" Godkin (Robert) of Ottawa; one son, J. Kevin McDonald (Deborah) of Saint John; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Sister Helen O'Neill, S.C.I.C. and James B. O'Neill. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday at 12:05 P.M. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Sheldrake Catholic Youth Camp; Rocmaura Foundation In.c; or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
