Obituary of Elsie Densmore Meehan

Elsie Densmore Meehan (nee English) of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday September 21, 2010. She was born on May 17, 1920 at Fairville to the late Charles and Adeline (Cogswell) English. Elsie belonged to the First United Baptist Church (Saint John West) in Lancaster, NB. Elsie worked at the General Hospital as an RNA and at the Provincial Hospital for a number of years as well. She loved to quilt and knit.  Elsie is survived by her sons Albert (Al) Meehan of Wetmore Creek, Terrance (Terry) Meehan (Betty) of French Village, William (Bill) Meehan (Nancy) of Calais, ME, and Keith Meehan (Nancy) of Five Fathom; her daughter Helen Meehan (Frank) of Saint John; grandchildren Kim, Crystal, Pat, Jennifer, William, Stephen, and Allan; great-grandchildren Sean, Chelsea, Kaysie, Brady, Sydnie, Lara, William, Janelle, Jessica, Carter, and Sierra; sisters Ruth Sheppard of Saint John West, Vivian Murray of Dipper Harbour, and Corine McCutcheon of Saint John West; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Albert Meehan; grandson Doug Meehan; brothers Jack and Kye English; and sisters Cora Kyle, Clara Kyle, Edith English, Ina Moody, and Bessie Thomson.  Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Thursday, September 23 at 1:00pm. Interment will take place in Lepreau Falls Cemetery.
