Obituary of Norman A. Galbraith

The death of Norman A Galbraith, husband of Joyce M. (Anderson) Galbraith, of Saint John West, occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday August 26, 2010. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Albert T. and Eva M. (Carins) Galbraith. Norman was a life long resident of the Saint John area and was employed for many years with the Saint John Iron Works as a machinist. He was an avid sports fan and loved baseball and hockey, he played ball and hockey for many years and had the nickname 'Hommer'. Norman was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Joyce and Norman celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 19, 2010. Â He was predeceased by a grandson Brandon Lyon and two brothers Alonzo and Lewis Galbraith. He is survived by his wife Joyce, three sons, Frank L. Galbraith (Janice) of Quispamsis, Gregory R. Galbraith (Brenda) and Ronald A. Galbraith (Ruby) both of Saint John West, three daughters Maureen H. Best (Dana) and Donna M. McCavour (Malcolm) both of Lorneville and Tanya D. Lyon (Danny) of Saint John, one brother Emery Galbraith (Nancy) of Prince of Wales. Â Twelve grandchildren: Jennifer, Jody, Sherri, Heather, Jeremy, David, Lindsay, Melissa, Erin, Whitney, Sara, and Gregory. Four great grandchildren: Jacob, Austin, Quentin, and Ava and several nieces and nephews. Keeping with Normans wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
