Obituary of Eric Lohnes

The death of Eric "Tic" Lohnes of Westfield, NB, husband of Charlotte (Nase) Lohnes, occurred on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS, on July 24, 1928, he was a son of the late J.Kenneth and Bessie Lohnes. "Tic" was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. He enjoyed spending time with his "Table 2 Group" and on Tuesday night he would get together with his special friends from "Life Group". "Tic" played a significant role in the preservation of Mount Hope Farm. He was the former owner of "Tic's" place, Welsford. Over the years he was involved in many business enterprises. Survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; four sons, Peter (Donna) of Westfield, NB; David (Jackie) of Westfield; Stephen (Sherrie) of Hampton, NB and James of Saint John; ten grandchildren, Angela, Ryan, Justin, Emily, Hannah, Dana, Christopher, Brian, Patrick and Kyle; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Braeden and Mason; two sisters, Mona (Ernest) Walford of Point Clair, PQ and Barbara Reid of Riverview, NB; several nieces and nephews; former daughters-in-law, Lourdes Clancy and Dale Armstrong. Predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, W.G. Bill Reid. The family would like to thank the Staff of 5ANorth, 3DSouth and Dr. Stephen Willis for all their kindness and compassion. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the Church of the Resurrection. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.
