Obituary of Zelda Ethel Bertha Briggs

Briggs, Zelda Ethel Bertha … The death of Zelda Ethel Bertha Briggs of Welsford, NB, wife of the late Allison Ralph Briggs, occurred on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Welsford on January 3, 1924, she was a daughter of the late George and Bertha (Willis) Burton. Zelda was a member of the Women's Institute and a former member of the LOBA. She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Jane Allyson Byers (Chris) and a son, Ken Kelly, both of Welsford; two sisters, Marlene Williams of Welsford and Georgina Wallace (Colin) of Clarendon, NB; a dear friend and special cousin, Pauline Morgan of Ajax, ON; many nieces and nephews. She was known by many as Gramma LaLa. Predeceased by her husband in February 2008; infant son, Stephen Andrew in 1966; four sisters, Grace Cox, Irene Charlton, Marjorie Kelly and Gertie Livingston. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 12 noon until the time of the service from Bay View Chapel at 2 pm. Interment will be in Welsford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Head Trauma Unit or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
