Obituary of Leta Opal Giggey

The death of Leta Giggey, wife of the late Douglas L. Giggey, of Brookview Crescent, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 13, 2008. She was born in Tracey, NB on September 3, 1920 to the late Charles and Wilma (Stewart) Lunnin. Leta was a member of St. Mark's United Church, Honourary Y'sman Ladies Auxiliary, YMCA and a former associate member of Carleton Curling Club. She is survived by two sons: Stephen (Donna) and Scott (Jane) both of Saint John; three daughters: Diane Hamilton, Heather Chetley (Paul) and Jill Giggey all of Saint John; one brother John Ward (Vivian) of North Bay, ON; eight grandchildren: Emma, Matilda, Christine, Rick (Angela), Andrew (Barbara), Adam (Joanne), Christopher and Mark; four great grandchildren: Ryan, Corey, Melissa and Andrea; one great-great grandson Caiden and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Leta was predeceased by two sisters: Helen Anderson and Margaret Whittaker and one brother, Stuart "Bud" Lunnin. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Mark's United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, Saint John on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
