Obituary of Angus MacArthur Matthews

Matthews, Angus MacArthur … The death of Angus MacArthur Matthews of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, occurred on November 6th, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Angus was born in Moncton, NB in 1940. He was a son of loving mother Anne (Gammon) Matthews and the late Edward Matthews. Angus was a member of Local 213 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Angus is survived by his mother, loving companion Rita Raby and her children (Marie-Chantal Martin and Gerard Pellerin, Nancy Martin and Andrew Jenkins); one brother Robert Matthews (Stella), his son Edward Matthews (Heather Ayer) and his daughter Andrea Matthews (Jim Richard); several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandsons Jake and Quinn Richard; know as "Pepere" to Nicolas, Jonathan and Marie-Josee Pellerin and Isabelle Jenkins. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, NB (506-634-7425), with visiting on Friday November 7, 2008 from 7-9 PM and Saturday November 8, 2008 from 2-4 PM only. Visitation will take place at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King Street, Miramichi, NB (506-773-3492) on Sunday November 9, 2008 from 7-9 PM. Funeral service will take place on Monday November 10, 2008 at St. Andrew's Church in Miramichi, NB with service at 11:00 AM. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish memorials may be placed to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
