Obituary of Margery Thelma Sharpe

The death of Margery Thelma Sharpe of Westfield, wife of the late Donald Sharpe, occurred on Sunday, August 03, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Portland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Thelma (Murray) Chapman. Margery was a member of the Westfield United Church, and was a long time member of the Philip Jergeson Chapter # 18 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Margery will be sadly missed by her daughter, Diane Mooney of Wirral; brother Ernest Chapman of Wasaga Beach, Ontario; sisters Josephine Kiss (Frank) of Toronto, Anah LeClair of Angus, Ontario, and Shirley Whittaker (Ron) of Hampton. Margery was "Nana" to granddaughters Jackie Garner, Jennifer Bateman (Pat), and Angela Moriarity (Neil), all of Saint John; Suzanne Sharpe of Westfield, and Leanne Bamford (Darron) of Lake George; grandsons Rick Mooney (Bronwyn) of Fredericton, and Roger Mooney (Nancy) of Quispamsis, great grandchildren Johnason, Jason, Kevin, Jarid, Jorja, and Marli; sisters-in-law Blanche Rideout of Hartland, Eva Chapman of Kennear Settlement, and Esther Chapman of Grand Bay; special cousins Fay and Joy Somers of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margery was predeceased by a son, Berton Donald Sharpe; son-in-law, John Mooney; brothers Charles Chapman and Fred Chapman; sisters Winnifred Misdorf and Lois Goddard; a sister-in-law, Cathy Chapman, and brothers-in-law Ralph Goddard and Edward LeClair. Resting at Brenan's Bayview Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2;00 PM from Brenan's Bay View Chapel, followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
