Obituary of Violet Irene Logan

The death of Violet Irene Logan of Woodman's Point, wife of the late Ellery Logan, occurred on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born at Clarendon, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Duke) Howell. Violet was a member of the former St. Peter's Church, Public Landing, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Violet is survived by two daughters, Shirley Parker of Public Landing, and Yvonne (Bonnie) Jones (Kent) of Saint John; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Logan of Grand Bay-Westfield; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, G. Ralph Logan; a son-in-law, Lloyd Parker; a great grandson, Benjamin Logan; sisters Marguerite Smith, Hazel Brownell, Elsie Haycox, and Rose Logan; and by brothers Cuthbert Howell, George Howell, and infant Thomas Howell. Resting at Brenan's Bayview Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Woodman's Point.
