Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Foster

The death of Elizabeth “Bessie” Marie Foster of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Glendon Foster, occurred on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on April 30, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Roseanne (Osborne) McEachern. Bessie was employed at the Riveria Restaurant and the Falls Restaurant for eighteen years before retiring. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking for her family. Survived by her sons, Peter Foster (Fay) of Saint John and Paul Foster (Wendy) of Ontario; daughters, Glenna Doucette of Saint John, Elizabeth “Beth” MacDonald of Saint John, Kimberly Gosse (Wayne) of ON, and Christine Lynn Foster (Louise Cummings) of Saint John; brother, Richard McEachern (Tina) of Hampton, NB; sisters, Audrey Harned and Rose Marie Spencer (Douglas) both of Saint John; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, June McEachern, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bessie was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Kenneth, Pat and Gordon McEachern. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 12:00 PM from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
