Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Taylor

Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Jean Taylor, wife of the late Lloyd A. Taylor, occurred at the Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday, September 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on October 24, 1918 at Saint John to the late Evan H. and Ada M. (Morgan) Fitzgerald. Jean is survived by her daughter, Mary Splane (Gary) of Rothesay; sister, Kathleen Munnharvey (George) of Aylmer, QC; son-in-law, Bill Harrington of Dryden, ON; four grandchildren: Jeffrey (Rhonda), Jamie, and John Harrington and Sarah (Splane) McGavney (Ian) and six great-grandchildren: Noah, Brett, Luke, Liam, Sydney and Tyson Harrington. Besides her husband and parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Mona Harrington and infant granddaughter, Lisa Harrington. Jean enjoyed working for many years at Hayward and Warwick’s China. She was a life long member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Jean was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother….always there for us with patience, love and understanding. She was a great example to us and was proud of our accomplishments. She had a love of music and the arts. Jean laughed often and loved much! Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the St. James the Less Church, St. Luke’s Church or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
