Earl Joseph Hebert of Saint John, husband of the late Mildred F. (Storey) Hebert, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Caraquet on July 6, 1932, he was a son of the late Avila and Rebecca (Theriault) Hebert. Earl began working at a young age at the Kent Theatre, where he met Mildred. He subsequently worked on the railroad, Lantic Sugar Refinery, Brookville Lime, and Stresscon. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed long walks in the woods at the camp in Codys. Earl was also a “home-made mechanic”, who liked to tinker with cars and trucks. Earl is survived by his children, Earl “Sonny” Hebert (Julia) of Passekeag, Debbie Williams (Lloyd) of Codys, Shirleen Richard (Eugene) of Saint John, Shane Hebert of Saint John, Kathy McInnis (George) of Calgary, Kenny Hebert of Highfield, and Laura Hebert of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Bertha Duda of Newcastle and Mary Louise of Neguac; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and to his parents, Earl was predeceased by a son, Todd Hebert in 2008, and by several brothers and sisters. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Doaktown Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
