Obituary of Muriel Verna Nisbet

With her family at her side the passing of Muriel Nisbet, wife of the late Jack Nisbet, occurred at the Orchard View Home, Gagetown on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. She was born on October 26, 1921 at Alma, PE to the late John and Janetta (Horne) Mountain. Muriel went to Prince of Wales College where she attained her teaching certificate. She taught at Woodvale, Enmore, and Tyne Valley schools in P.E.I. She was active with the Simonds Lionettes, the Anglican Church Women (ACW) with the St. John’s Stone Church in Saint John, and the Women’s Institute (WI) with the St. James Anglican Church in Cambridge-Narrows, and the Jemseg Seniors. She is survived by one son, Tom Nisbet of Cambridge-Narrows; three daughters: Janet Nisbet of Saint John, Sandra DiGiannantonio (John) of Grand Blanc, MI and Marlene Duckworth (Dennis) of Liverpool, NS; three grandchildren: Michael DiGiannantonio of Chicago, IL, Heather DiGiannantonio of Louisville, KY and Sara Hood (Jason) of Fredericton; two great grandchildren: Avah Gray and William Hood; four sisters (and best friends): Lila Squarebriggs, Hattie Johnston, Beth Neill (Preston) and Blanche Bowness and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Orchard View Nursing Home, Alzheimer’s Research or the charity of your choice.
