Obituary of Ian Donald Cameron

Beloved husband of 54 years to Evelyn (Arseneau), and loving father of Susan, John, and Bruce. Ian died peacefully in the comfortable warmth of the new palliative care suite at the Loch Lomond Villa with his family at his side on May 17, 2010. He was born on January 2, 1928 in Saint John to the late Ian and Eleanor “Nellie” (Campbell) Cameron. Ian was a gentle soul who loved fishing, gardening and his family. He served his community through a number of organizations, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a telephone pioneer. He lives on through his family: daughter, Susan Blanchard (Eldon); Sons, John and Bruce (Angie); grandchildren Marc Blanchard (Lisa), Michael Blanchard (Serenity), and Andersen Cameron; Great Grandchildren Robbie Raynes, and Eva Blanchard; Sisters, Marie Hanson (Stewart), Joan Fetterley (Tom) and their extended families. He is predeceased by his sisters Pat Kindred, and Norma Cameron, and Grandson William Blanchard. Viewing will be at Brenans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row on Wednesday 7-9pm; Thursday 2-4pm and 7-9pm; with funeral to be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Rothesay on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
